Microsoft released a free version of Visual Studio 2012 yesterday which is perfect for .NET Bio development - you can read the full details at http://blogs.msdn.com/b/visualstudio/archive/2012/09/12/visual-studio-express-2012-for-windows-desktop-is-here.aspx.

This targets Windows desktop applications (command line, WPF, Windows Forms) and should fully support the current release of .NET Bio - either through the codeplex download, or NuGet (search for biology).  Highly recommended!

In looking at the URL there is some cool new things in VS Express... here is the snippet.

Unit Testing

We wanted to make it easy for you to write and run unit tests for your projects. To make that possible, Express for Windows Desktop includes our existing unit test framework for C# and Visual Basic and the new native C++ unit test framework. This lets you write, run and debug unit tests directly inside Visual Studio. Unit Test project templates are also included so you can start writing unit tests right away.

So this appears to make VS 2012 Express suitable for .NET Bio. I think Blair had asked about using VS 2012 previously. Has anyone tried doing this?
