Hi All,

As a random weekend project I spent some time looking at the new Broad GATK pairedHMM. This step was rate limiting in the analysis so it has gone from Java->C++ and now is in CUDA. I was briefly playing around with ways of improving it, and decided to try out the Mono.Simd namespace (which I thought might be useful for making up for some of the windows/mono speed differences that sometimes occur, or speeding up our alignment algorithms).

Anyway, they seem to work well. If anyone cares I wrote a quick thing up here.

Just in case any other C# - science people were curious.

Thanks for your post, also i'm searching for a way to improve the .NET BIO library through BLASTn o BLASTp implementation using C#.

I will be happy to work with you if you're interested.
