What shall be the fate of the Visual Studio Console App Project template?

hi All,

In issue 8752 (May 2013), markjulmar comments:
The project template is fine for demos and quick throw-away projects but the Nuget approach is really what people should be using because it's far more flexible.
Given that we have a couple of open issues related to the project template, I'd like to canvas the community for opinions before proceeding to resolve them.

The question: do we keep the project template or remove it?

Cheers, LB.

I vote we remove it, it's not even part of the official build itself anyway. It's really just a zip file added by the installer. Instead, we should move it to a Visual Studio Extension where people can add the project/item templates if they want right from the online system.

Sounds like the right thing to me. Unless anyone objects, let's make this a change request for inclusion in the next release?

No objection here.
